When it’s time for a new roof

A fresh start — so we don’t cut corners under it.

When a roof is past the point repairs can save, a full replacement resets the clock — done right, it protects your home for decades. We replace every roof type on New Mexico homes: metal, shingle, tile, and flat.

We pull the permit before any work starts, then tear the old roof off to the deck — we never roof over an existing layer, because that hides rot and voids most manufacturer warranties. From there we inspect the decking, install to the manufacturer's spec, and document the whole job with photos. Every roof is backed two ways: a manufacturer material warranty and our own 10-year workmanship warranty.

Worried about hail?

Class 4 impact-resistant roofing

New Mexico monsoons bring hail that cracks ordinary shingles. As an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, we install TruDefinition® Duration FLEX® — a Class 4 shingle made with SBS “rubberized” asphalt that flexes on impact and springs back instead of cracking. Class 4 is the highest impact rating there is, earned by surviving a 2-inch steel ball dropped from 20 feet, again and again. Metal roofs carry the same Class 4 rating.

  • May qualify you for a discount on your homeowners insurance
  • Stands up to New Mexico hail and wind-driven debris
  • Fewer storm repairs — and a roof that lasts longer

What’s included

Metal, shingle, and tile — start to finish.

Whichever you choose, every Paramount reroof is built on the same nine fundamentals — the layers and details that decide whether a roof lasts 10 years or 30. Flat and low-slope roofs are built differently; that’s its own system, covered on the Flat / TPO page.

01

Full tear-off to the deck

We strip the old roof down to the bare decking. We never roof over an existing layer.

02

Deck inspection

Before anything goes back on, we check the wood decking for rot or damage.

03

Synthetic underlayment

A full synthetic underlayment laid across the entire deck.

04

Ice & water shield in valleys and eaves

Self-adhering waterproof membrane where water concentrates and leaks usually start.

05

Drip edge

New metal drip edge at the eaves and rakes to send water off the roof, not behind the fascia.

06

Painted pipe covers

Pipe-jack flashings — the metal covers that seal around the pipes through your roof — painted to match.

07

Your panels, shingles, or tile

The roof surface you chose — metal, shingle, or tile — installed to the manufacturer's exact spec.

08

Ridge venting

Balanced ridge venting so attic heat and moisture can escape, which protects the new roof from the inside.

09

Daily cleanup and haul-off

The site is cleaned and debris hauled off every day, with a magnet sweep for nails at completion.

If we find a surprise

Once an old roof comes off, we sometimes find things that were invisible during inspection — a hidden second layer, rotted decking, a low skylight curb. When that happens, we stop, document it with photos, and explain it before doing the work. Extra layers are $0.50/sq ft, replacement decking is $75/sheet, and nothing extra happens without your approval. That's the whole philosophy: transparency and honest communication, every time.

Backed in writing

Permitted, documented, and warrantied two ways.

Permitted, every job

New Mexico law requires a permit and a final inspection on every reroof. A lot of contractors skip it. We don't — we pull a building permit on every job, no exceptions. That permit protects your insurance coverage, your home's resale value, and you.

10-year workmanship warranty

Every Paramount roof is backed two ways: the manufacturer's material warranty and our own 10-year workmanship warranty. Depending on your system, that can include a lifetime metal material warranty, the Owens Corning Preferred Protection Limited Warranty, a 30-year synthetic underlayment warranty, or a 20-year TPO/silicone warranty.

I compared other quotes to Paramount. They took the time to show me where others were shortcutting and what to look out for. Transparent company that I would do business with again.

From a real inspection

When it’s time to replace, not patch.

This is a real inspection of a worn-out flat roof. Patching it wouldn’t have lasted. Here’s what told us it was time for a full replacement.

What we found

  • The wall flashings were pulling open and badly degranulated. Sealing one spot wouldn’t stop the next one from opening up.
  • A cable ran straight through the flashing with no sealant, an old satellite dish sat unused on the roof, and caps were falling off.
  • A few areas of the decking had more give underfoot than we like to see.

How we fix it

  • We install a brand-new, fully-adhered TPO membrane and flash every edge and penetration watertight. A licensed HVAC company disconnects and resets any rooftop units the right way.
  • It’s backed by a 20-year manufacturer material warranty and a 10-year workmanship warranty. A roof this size is about a day and a half of work.

Questions

Roof replacement questions, answered.

Do you tear off the old roof or install over it?

Always a full tear-off down to the deck. Roofing over an old layer hides rot, piles on weight, and voids most manufacturer warranties — so we never do it.

Do you pull a permit?

Yes, on every job. New Mexico law requires a permit and a final inspection on every reroof, and a lot of contractors skip it. We don't. That permit protects your insurance coverage and your home's resale value.

What warranty comes with a new roof?

Two: the manufacturer's material warranty on your roof system, plus our own 10-year workmanship warranty. Both are registered and delivered to you once the job is complete.

What if you find rotted decking after the tear-off?

We stop, photograph it, and explain it before doing any extra work. Replacement decking runs $75 a sheet, and if we find a buried extra layer of old roofing during the tear-off, removing it is $0.50 a square foot — but nothing extra happens without your approval.

How accurate is the instant quote?

It's an estimate, not a final number. We measure your roof by satellite to give you price ranges by material in seconds. The exact price comes after a free in-person inspection.

Can I finance my roof?

Yes. Through Wisetack you can spread the cost over monthly payments, with 0% APR available up to 24 months. Checking your options is a soft credit check that won't affect your credit score — see the details on our financing page.

How long does a replacement take?

Most residential reroofs are done in a few days, depending on the size, system, and weather. We'll give you a realistic schedule in your written estimate.

Start with a satellite estimate in seconds, or book a free in-person inspection. Either way, you’ll get an honest recommendation — no pressure, no shortcuts.
