Questions, answered

Everything, in plain English.

Process

How a job actually runs — permits, tear-offs, timelines, and what happens when we find a surprise under the old roof.

Do you pull permits?
Yes, on every project — no exceptions. New Mexico law requires a permit and final inspection on every reroof; it protects your insurance, resale, and you.
How long does a roof take?
Most residential roofs are 1–3 days depending on size, system, and access.
What if you find a second layer or rotted decking under my roof?
We document it with photos and tell you before doing the work. At typical industry add-on rates, extra layers are about $0.50/sq ft and replacement decking about $75/sheet — only as needed, always by approved change order. No surprises.
Will removing my roof void my HVAC or solar warranty?
It can if a third party moves equipment that's still under its manufacturer's warranty (the coverage that came with your HVAC or solar) — so we flag it and coordinate licensed contractors. Ask us before selecting those add-ons.
My roof is leaking right now — what should I do?
Call us at 505-615-0646 — the line is answered 24/7 for emergencies. We can dispatch a crew to tarp an active leak and stop the damage until a permanent repair is scheduled.
Do you tear off the old roof or go over it?
We always tear off to the structural deck. That lets us inspect the decking for rot or damage and install to spec. Roofing over an existing layer hides problems and can void both manufacturer and workmanship warranties.

Money & payment

What it costs, how the deposit works, and the ways you can pay — cash, check, or Wisetack financing. No credit cards, no hidden fees.

Why am I charged for more material than my roof's square footage?
Every roofing estimate includes a standard 10% waste/overage factor — material is lost to cuts, valleys, hips, ridges, starter and cap courses. It ensures we don't run short mid-project (which causes delays and color/dye-lot mismatches). Unused overage stays with you.
Do you offer financing?
Yes — monthly payments through Wisetack, with a soft-check prequalification that won't affect your credit. See our Financing page.

How do you take payment?
Cash, check, or Wisetack financing. 50% deposit to schedule and buy materials; 50% on completion.
How much does a new roof cost?
It depends on the size, roofing system, and the condition of what's underneath. The best way to know is a free in-person estimate, or you can get an instant price range using our Instant Quote tool. A 50% deposit is due to schedule the job and buy materials.

How do I pay, and what's the deposit?
We accept cash, check, or Wisetack financing — we don't take credit cards. A 50% deposit is due when you schedule (it covers materials); the remaining 50% is due on completion.

Coverage & service area

Warranties, insurance claims, the materials we install, and the New Mexico towns we cover.

What warranties come with my roof?
A manufacturer material warranty plus our 10-year workmanship warranty (3-year on maintenance). Coverage varies by system — see our Warranties page.

What areas do you serve?
Rio Rancho, Albuquerque, and Placitas, plus the greater metro.
Do you work with insurance or storm-damage claims?
Yes. We inspect the damage, document it with dated photos, and can meet your adjuster on the roof so nothing gets missed. Once the scope is approved, we bill to that scope — no upsells. See our insurance claims page for the full process.

What roofing materials do you install?
Metal panels (sourced from Metal Center, Albuquerque's local manufacturer, with a lifetime material warranty), Owens Corning Duration shingles, tile lift-and-reset, and TPO/flat roofing systems.

How we operate

The short version of every answer above.

Most of the questions come down to four promises. Here’s how Paramount works, on every job, no exceptions.

Permitted on every project

New Mexico law requires a permit and a final inspection on every reroof, and plenty of contractors skip it. We don't — it protects your insurance, your resale value, and you.

Always a full tear-off

We strip the old roof down to the structural deck — never layer over it. Roofing over an existing layer hides rot and can void both the manufacturer and workmanship warranties.

No surprise charges

If we find a buried layer or rotted decking after the tear-off, we stop, photograph it, and explain it. Nothing extra happens without a signed change order — typical add-on rates, never a guess.

Pay in two halves

A 50% deposit when you schedule (it buys your materials), then the remaining 50% on completion. Cash, check, or Wisetack financing — we don't take credit cards.
